Privacy Policy

Who this applies to

Organizers are people with a Shinny King account. They sign in and manage one or more leagues.

Players don’t have accounts. Organizers enter information about the players in their league. For player information, the league’s organizers decide what is collected and why, and we store and process it on their behalf.

Information we collect

From organizers:

• Your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We don’t request access to any other Google data.
• Sign-in session records, including IP address and browser user agent, to keep you signed in and protect your account.
• Your league memberships and invitations.

Entered by organizers about their leagues:

• Player details: names, nicknames, email addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, positions, skill ratings, and notes.
• Sessions, rosters, waitlists, games, attendance, subs, teams, and scores.
• Fees, payments, rink bills, and bank balances.

How we use information

• To provide the service: show leagues to their organizers and run its features.
• To sign you in, verify your email, reset your password, and send invitations.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We don’t sell personal information, show ads, or use analytics or tracking services. We don’t use league data to train AI models.

Google user data

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We use them only to create and sign in to your Shinny King account and to show who you are in the app. We don’t share them with anyone except as needed to run the service, as described below.

Shinny King’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who can see league data

League data is visible only to that league’s organizers. Each league is kept separate, and organizers of one league can’t see another’s data.

If you connect an AI assistant or other app to Shinny King (for example through our MCP server), it can read and change the data of the leagues you choose, but only after you approve access. That app’s own privacy policy covers what it does with the data.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run Shinny King:

• Cloudflare hosts the app, stores its data, and sends our emails.
• Google provides “Sign in with Google” if you choose to use it.

These providers may process data outside your province or country, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember preferences like light or dark mode. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and every request is checked against the leagues you belong to. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect your information and will notify affected people of a breach as the law requires.

Retention

We keep account and league data while your account or league is active. When you ask us to delete your account or a league, we delete its data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.

Your choices and rights

• Organizers can view and correct their account and league data in the app.
• You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or to delete your account by emailing hello@shinnyking.com.
• Players should contact their league’s organizer first. If you can’t reach them, email us and we’ll help.
• You can disconnect Google from your Google Account settings at any time.

Children

Organizer accounts are for adults. Organizers who enter information about players under the age of majority are responsible for having a parent or guardian’s consent.

Changes

We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For significant changes, we’ll let organizers know by email or in the app.
